Bio

David Milne has been involved in construction for the majority of his career. After a brief start in telecom sales and installation, he was inspired by his fathers career in architecture and pursued the construction industry. The scope of work was predominantly remodeling and renovation in older buildings e.g. Victorian, Edwardian and Queen Ann, however also included new construction.

During the Dot-Com bubble, he moved on to t.i.’s (tenet improvements) which again focused on older structures in the Downtown and South Beach area of San Francisco. These generally ranged from 10,000 to 30,000 square foot renovations. Most of which demanded quick turn around as well as ability to work with architects, sub contractors and local municipalities.

He eventually returned to his cherished favorite which was higher end remodeling. The focus being on intricate detail with cabinetry, duplicating existing finishes, custom woodwork and European fixture installation. This included additions, developing sub areas and structural modifications. Demand was not only on how to duplicate and renovate original design and detail, but also incorporate or marry the “new with old“. This involved close working relationships with homeowners, designers and architects which led to accolades in magazines, media as well as involvement with show piece projects.

In 2001, the decision was made to move on to home inspection. His experiences with old world construction, modern design and familiarity with San Francisco architecture are the core of his knowledge. This is what David brings with him to each inspection and uses to guide and educate each buyer/seller through the inspection process.
